Human skeletal remains were found Sunday (4/5/2026) in a wooded area in White County. District Attorney General Bryant C. Dunaway said that a local man contacted police after he discovered what he believed to be a human skull in the area of Crossville Highway near Bon Air.
The White County Sheriff’s Office responded and confirmed the existence of a complete human skull. With the assistance of the TBI and DA’s Office, authorities recovered multiple bones believed to be human from the area.
Investigators will be working with the medical examiner’s office to identify the remains.
The investigation is on-going.
