Skeletal remains found by a group of hikers Sunday, March 29, 2026 near Monterey have been identified as those of Kevin Sharp who went missing from his residence on May 4, 2024. The next day, Mr. Sharp’s black Subaru was found abandoned on I-40 at mile marker 298 in Putnam County. During the recovery of the remains, a Subaru key fob was located among the items recovered.
