The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) has awarded nearly $900,000 in Nuclear Equipment Funding (NEF) grants to four institutions to support the expansion of nuclear education and workforce training programs across the state.
Tennessee Technological University received $250,000 in grand funding; Roane State Community College and UT Knoxville were each awarded over $249,000; and Chattanooga State Community College received $150,000. The funds are to be used for the purchase of advanced training equipment.
Grant contracts began April 1, 2026, and will run for six months.
