The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Richard Oliver McCurdy on 2 counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery. The arrest comes after the Sheriff’s Office received a report from Michigan Child Protective Services regarding allegations of child sex abuse by a family member. Additional family members brought concerns of another allegation regarding a different child and the Sheriff’s Office says McCurdy admitted that he did sexually abuse both victims. McCurdy was booked into the Putnam County Jail on a $300,000 bond and his court date is set for July 9, 2026.
After McCurdy’s arrest, Putnam County Investigators conducted 2 additional forensic interviews, bringing the total number of identified victims to 3 at this time.
