Injured Hiker Rescued at Rock Island State Park Sunday

On Sunday, an injured female hiker had to be rescued at Rock Island State Park after suffering a possible broken ankle. Members of the Sparta-White County Rescue Squad, alongside the Doyle Volunteer Fire Department, White County EMS, and Tennessee State Parks responded and worked together to safely carry her from the trail to the trailhead. The Sparta-White County Rescue Squad reports she was transferred to EMS personnel for further evaluation and treatment.
